Kwantis recentrly started a migration to Azure cloud of a set of software used by a major oil company for the Real-Time data collection, monitoring and processing.
The current in-house management of all the RT applications represents the highest level of responsibility and demands a significant amount of time, effort and operating costs to manage the various aspects of the infrastructures.
On the contrary, the migration designed by kwantis is based on the maximized adoption of the Platform as a Service (PaaS) model. This increases the number of outsourceable resources, leaving the responsibility for the data and application development to the client, but simplifying the resources needed to code, build and manage the applications, ensuring a more efficient time and costs management.
The migration is managed with a lift-and-shift approach, including an initial step of analysis and design specific for each application. This ensures that a unique workspace will host the architectural configuration while all the software will be migrated into a single resource group, despite the different included components, libraries and services.
