To gain a comprehensive understanding of a rig’s carbon footprint, accurate consumption and emissions data are vital. Last year Eni partnered with kwantis to develop an innovative greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring software. This tool enables the tracking and mapping of CO2-equivalent emissions associated with fuel consumption on Eni-operated rigs. By aggregating high frequency data from the rig site and Daily Drilling Report data input by the rig crew, the software is able to discriminate fuel consumption and GHG emissions for each single operation in near-real time.
