International Women’s Day: Empowering Women in Tech

On this International Women’s Day, we’re proud to highlight kwantis’ commitment to diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. At kwantis, we’re surpassing industry average in hiring and empowering more women in tech roles such as engineering consultants, data scientists and software developers.

However, despite strides towards gender balance, men continue to hold the majority of positions in the tech sector. This has sparked demands for increased diversity in recruitment, particularly as the industry undergoes pivotal advancements in artificial intelligence technologies.

The 2021 Women in Digital Scoreboard released by the European Commission underscores the persistent gender disparity in specialized digital expertise. As per the 2021 data, only 19% of ICT specialists are women. Notably, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, and the Netherlands lead in female digital engagement, with strong performance in the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI). Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, and Italy rank lowest in female participation within the digital economy and society.

Recent data from Eurostat reveals a positive trend, with the proportion of women in computer programming and related services across the EU increasing from 23% pre-pandemic to 25.2% by the end of 2023. This upward trajectory is evident in several EU countries, including Germany, France, and Denmark.

By the end of 2023, Kwantis achieved a milestone with 30% of its workforce comprising female employees hailing from six different nationalities. By empowering women in tech, we not only create a more inclusive work environment but also unlock the full potential of our teams and organizations. Happy International Women’s Day from the Kwantis Team!
