The role
Keep id3, our software suite for drilling, running for every client. id3 is made of dozens of services that drilling teams rely on during operations, and each client has its own environments, in our cloud accounts or in theirs.
You will look after the platform they run on: the Kubernetes clusters on AWS and Azure, the Helm charts that install the whole id3 suite, the pipelines that build and release it, the databases, and the monitoring that keeps it healthy. You will work closely with our software and AI engineers.
Our stack: Terraform on AWS (EKS) and Pulumi in C# on Azure (AKS); Kubernetes with Helm and nginx ingress; Docker images in AWS ECR; Bitbucket Pipelines; PostgreSQL on Kubernetes with CloudNativePG and Barman backups, Redis and RabbitMQ; Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Alertmanager; Keycloak for single sign-on; scripting in Bash, PowerShell and Python.
What you will do
- Provision and upgrade Kubernetes clusters and cloud resources as code, for each client and environment (demo, test, production).
- Maintain the Helm charts of the id3 services and the umbrella chart that installs the whole suite.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, and manage release trains and rollouts across client environments.
- Run PostgreSQL, Redis and RabbitMQ on Kubernetes, including backups and regular restore tests.
- Operate monitoring, logging and alerting, and troubleshoot incidents with the development team.
- Keep the platform secure and up to date: access control, secrets, certificates and upgrades.
- Document the platform and support client installations.
What we look for
- Hands-on experience running workloads on Kubernetes in production.
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform or Pulumi.
- Experience with AWS or Azure.
- Docker, Helm and CI/CD pipelines.
- Linux, and scripting in Bash or Python.
- Curiosity for new technologies and a wish to keep learning.
- Good written and spoken English.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with both AWS and Azure.
- Prometheus, Grafana and Loki.
- Running PostgreSQL on Kubernetes (CloudNativePG, backup and recovery).
- Kubernetes networking and security: ingress, DNS, certificates, IAM.
- Keycloak or other single sign-on systems.
