In the actual prolonged crisis contex, developing a proper Risk Management system can be considered essential for medium-large Companies.
On the international level, the Risk Management is widely recognized and appreciated: 91%
of Managers of 400 Multinational companies around the world considers risk management
essential for business growth and for profits increase.
In Italy, however, the Risk Management is underestimated: more than half of Companies in
Italy haven’t created a dedicated Risk management function and over 84% of these Companies
haven’t plan yet to implement one in the future (source:Olimpia Broker PMI, 2012).
According to the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA), Italy is at the last position for the dissemination of Risk management because it is an activity underestimated
and the value added is not yet fully understood. In this period characterized by the decline in profits and economic recession, a revision of
strategies relying on experts to manage risk is required: it should be necessary to give a
greater role to the function, aligned with the international trend.
