Kwantis has launched a new project providing technical expertise and risk management support for the assessment phase of a major Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) initiative in the North Sea.
Well Integrity and Risk Assessment
The project focuses on conducting a comprehensive Well Integrity Assessment and an updated Well Risk Assessment for a cluster of wells. Moving from extensive project inputs—including historical well logs, raw data, schematics, and subsurface simulations—a dedicated multidisciplinary team of risk engineers and drilling specialists is executing a rigorous, multi-stream workflow. This technical scope includes performing data gap analyses, refining well-by-well integrity narratives, verifying sidetrack integrations, and evaluating historical annulus pressure data. By pairing this forensic engineering approach with complex barrier modeling and leak tonnage calculations, Kwantis ensures that all potential migration pathways are thoroughly evaluated and mitigated.
