Focused on corrosion from produced/injected fluids, our model assesses the primary parameter impacting tubular reliability. One of the key factors of the model is to identify the combination material/fluid in order to estimate only corrosion where the tubings are susceptible to it. We prioritize precision by excluding corrosion from fluids compatible with tubular materials.
To quantify corrosion phenomena in terms of corrosion rate [mm/y], the thickness reduction is tracked, safeguarding tubular integrity and barrier efficacy. Our process includes:
- Calculation of corrosion rate due to sweet and sour corrosion, leveraging an industry-standard corrosion model, primarily addressing uniform sweet corrosion, and incorporating sour environment corrosion rates based on data driven rule of thumb.
- Conversion to failure rate [failures/hour] based on corrosion rate and thickness reduction allowance.
- Computation of Probability of Failure on Demand considering Mean Time to Repair, Monitoring Frequency, and tubular material failure rate.
