Expo02 was the last national exhibition organized by Switzerland. A kwantis partner, part of its organization, ran the project risk management that helped its managers deal with uncertainty in sizing, schedule and budget.
The challenge
Expo02 management needed to measure the uncertainties related to project sizing, scheduling and budgeting.
Our approach
A partner of kwantis, who took part in organizing Expo02, implemented and then coordinated a complete project risk management process involving all Expo02 departments.
The work also included an audit of the most critical functions identified by the initial risk assessment. Project sizing, for example, was seen as critical, so a dedicated study modelled visitor circulation and facilities sizing with system dynamics models.
The outcome
All risk issues were consolidated into probabilistic economic and schedule assessments. These were updated regularly and reported to Expo02 top management.
